Stoneheart

Author: Charlie Fletcher
Narrator: Jim Dale

A city has many lives and layers. London has more than most. Not all the layers are underground, and not all the lives belong to the living. A twelve-year-old boy named George Chapman is about to find this out the hard way. On a school trip he's punished for something he didn't do. In a tiny act of rebellion, he lashes out at a small carving on the wall -- unexpectedly breaking it off. And then something horrible does happen: a stone Pterodactyl unpeels from the wall and starts chasing him. George is already running before his mind starts trying to tell him this is impossible. Charlie Fletcher studied English Literature at St. Andrews in Scotland and screenwriting at the University of Southern California School of Film and Television in Los Angeles. Charlie had written for television, film and had also done a spot of journalism now and again before turning his hand to write Stoneheart, his first novel for children. Charlie Fletcher lives and writes in Edinburgh with his wife, two children and a terrier called Archie. Jim Dale is an award-winning narrator and actor. He has won a record seven Audie Awards, including Audio Book of the Year (2004), and a Grammy Award as well as four Grammy nominations. As an actor, Mr. Dale has won a Tony Award, four Drama Desk Awards, and four Outer Critics Awards. Additionally, he received an Oscar nomination for writing the song "Georgy Girl."
