Engineering & Design Module - Ages 3+

The goal of the Engineering & Design Module is to teach kids to recognize challenges, turn them into opportunities, and identify scalable solutions to solve them. Topics in this module include puzzles, invention, construction, machines, architecture, curiosity.

STEAM Academy offers an interdisciplinary approach that weaves together the science, technology, engineering, art, and math skills learned in the classroom and connects them to things kids see every day.

Carl the Super Truck Roadworks: Dig, Drill & Build
Play with bulldozers, cranes & trucks and discover Car City’s Construction site. Enjoy mini-games & exclusive features, and meet with all your friends from Car City. Drive the truck by pressing the arrow key.

Color Blocked
Uh oh…the color’s blocked! Let’s see if we can help. Get ready to straighten out the pipes, unplug the corks, and get that color flowing again as we shake, turn, and move all around! But be careful—the color might get unclogged faster than expected!

Forces Make Things Begin To Move
Forces make things begin to move. Forces can also make things slow down. A special force called "friction" helps keep things from slipping and helps things slow down. When you're riding your bike, friction keeps the wheels from slipping when you go around a sharp curve. Kids will enjoy following along word-for-word with the lyrics to this song and stay engaged and entertained while learning. Learning with music is easy and fun and a proven way for children to learn basic skills.

Kids Draw with Shapes
Children can make creative images using ten basic shapes and seven different colors. Kids will choose to make their own design or use a template to recreate pictures from a favorite category.

Levers, Pulleys, And Simple Machines
Simple machines need a person to make it work. Examples of simple machines are: scissors, nutcrackers, bottle openers, and pliers. These simple machines help us do many jobs and make these jobs easier to do. Kids will enjoy following along word-for-word with the lyrics to this song and stay engaged and entertained while learning.
